Personal Profile
My art is a reflection of my deep connection to the Australian landscape, and the unique identity that comes from living in this incredible country. Through my current body of work, I seek to explore and express my relationship with the land, using a variety of mediums and techniques to bring my vision to life.
As the American artist Robert Rauschenberg once said, "a picture is more like the real world when it is made from the real world". I take this sentiment to heart in my work, seeking to use both the natural and manmade materials of the Australian landscape as much as possible. From the colors and textures of the earth to the materials found in local flora and fauna, I draw on these elements to create pieces that are deeply connected to the environment that inspired them.
By using both natural and manmade materials, I aim to highlight the complex relationship between humanity and the natural world, and to encourage viewers to consider their own impact on the environment. My art is a celebration of the beauty and diversity of the Australian landscape, but it is also a call to action, urging others to take steps to protect and preserve the natural world that we all share.
Through my art, I hope to inspire others to see the world in a new light, and to embrace the unique perspectives and experiences that shape our identities. By highlighting the beauty and complexity of the Australian landscape, I aim to create a dialogue that encourages viewers to explore their own connection to the natural world, and to consider the role that we all play in shaping the future of our planet.
